Reminiscing Rex

Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or lifetime is certain for those who are friends." - [Richard David Bach]
.
Sandstorm and the rising mercury whipped the Countryside last Friday and so, I had no choice but to cancel a movie plan and toil on one of my time-consuming recreation – photoediting by photosuit. As I kept on cropping, designing and labeling plenty of those for hours, I came across on one of my treasured memorabilia – our Thailand tour photographs. 2004 Tokens from an adventure of a lifetime made possible by Rex B’s upper hand, my good chum who’d took me to the kingdom’s majestic sites alongside his model-dudes Tofee and Holy.

Rex profile as a professional is gently intimidating. As a licensed Physical Therapist and Entrepreneur, he had tete-a’-tete with the well-heeled in a number of Intercontinental Cities, particularly in top Corporations in Japan and London when he had worked earlier. I’ve met him over here in Dubai when he was still a SPA Manager for the Emirate’s finest Health & Leisure hub (Cleopatra in
Wafi City - my former station) and in the Country’s largest Hotel (Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa Hotel , a serene place of his that best fit my idea of self-concealing from the madness of City crowd. The easygoing Johnny who masterminded my craving for Morrocan Bath, Swedish Massage and Aromatheraphy. Having been a former Talent Manager in Manila for up-and-coming starlets, showbiz still and will always run in his blood. I myself, we’re amused and impressed by the man’s simple yet glamorous world. In similitude of a down-to-Earthness over whopping pro’s and social achievements. And while he has helped a lot of newbies & oldies here, he does’nt allow his right hand knew what the left is doing. That made him more recognized and loved. I’m such a lucky guy for that rich-filled experience. Upon his invitations, I remember how I sporadically dated and chat with his international celebrity pals that I’d only seen before in glossy ads, in boob-tube and in reel. We had lots of fun, food and crazy experiments. Humors made our day but we don’t rumors like the hardnosed English Paparazzi. We knew the essence of morals and manners.

But where’s Rexy?. After our December Bdays, I received phone calls and text messages no more. He enigmatically disappeared like what David Copperfield did to Bermuda Grass in one of his illusion act. I discovered he’d left his high-post, sold his assets and remain in privacy and mystery accordingly. Wherever my friend maybe, I hope he’s sound, safe and shining still. Hey Kuyang (our calls he hate), we’ve missed you more than the lovely peacocks in your garden, more than our glitzy trips abroad, more than our dinners with the Stars. Wish you’ll see me again. Soon.
